Fresh Eats
Fresh Eats Dec 2019

Recipe search site where you can sort by diet and intolerances, login and save recipes to a favorites page and then tag and sort them. This was built by a group of four people as the final project for our coding bootcamp. The front end is built in React without any CSS frameworks and the back end is node.js with MongoDB.

I learned a lot from this project, but was ultimately pretty disappointed in how it turned out. My favorite piece of this project was the saved recipe page where you can filter and display your recipes in different ways. That was one of the first times I got to play around with react and make something that was responsive to the user.

Golf Solitaire
Golf Solitaire Jun 2020

This is a solitaire game, based on the rules of golf solitaire. I made this by myself just to try and make a game for fun, and also to try out Gatsby. I designed all the cards myself using Figma, I'm pretty happy with the look of the game overall. I had a great time making this, despite the simplicity I think it's really fun.

This is an ongoing project at the time of writing this (3/16/21). The first company I have worked for since finishing bootcamp. It is an entire web platform for commodities trading, including a directory, chat and forum.

I have worked on a bunch of different pieces for over a year now. I built the majority of the Admin application in React for administrators to control users, companies, and data. I built the backbones of the chat system which uses socket.io and Mongodb for instant user to user chat. I customized and helped deploy the discourse forum and built a custom plugin for displaying information in the sidebar.

Untitled Platformer
Untitled Platformer Jul 2017

This was mostly a proof of concept I made in Unity. It is a very simple Metroidvania style game where you pick up power-ups to let you do more and more and explore more of the map. I did everything myself including the art, and sound effects. It's really rough but it was the first "Complete" game I ever made. I think it has a few clever ideas and surprises despite how simple and messy it is overall.

Why Do I Do This?
Why Do I Do This? Nov 2018

This was a game I made while working as an Administrative Coordinator at Boston University. I was paid mostly to sit there all day and had a lot of time to try and get other things done. I did it on my work computer and couldn't install any software, so it was built entirely using web based tools. Mostly done in Construct 3 using their visual coding language, all the art was done on a web based pixel editor, there is no sound since I wasn't able to wear headphones while working.

I worked very hard on this for a few weeks, I eventually lost interest and the latter half of the game is much thinner than the beginning. I am very proud I was able to put this together, it is the most complete game I have made and I think it has some pretty interesting stuff in it. It's very buggy since I stopped working on it, but that just adds to the charm.
